PolyEdge Daily #16 — March 21, 2026
"Week 3: 4W-1L. +54.5% Resolved. Capital Redeployed. The System Compounds."GM. It's Saturday. Week 3 is in the books. Time for the weekly review — every position, every number, full transparency. No edits, no hiding.
This was a pivotal week. Two more trades resolved at $1.00. The FOMC created a once-in-a-quarter repricing. We redeployed freed capital within 48 hours. And the portfolio is now positioned for the March 31 contract resolution wave and the Hungary election approach.
Let's run the numbers.

📊 WEEK 3 RESULTS — FULL P&L
Resolved This Week
| Trade | Entry | Resolution | P&L | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oil $120 March YES | 74¢ | $1.00 | +35.1% | ✅ Resolved Tue |
| Fed Hold March YES | 98¢ | $1.00 | +2.0% | ✅ Resolved Wed (FOMC) |
Two more at $1.00. The oil complex thesis from Day 1 continues to deliver. The Fed Hold was free money at 98¢ — the real value of that trade was the capital it freed for redeployment.
New Entries This Week
| Trade | Entry | Current | Conviction | Thesis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No Fed Cut 2026 YES | 42¢ | 56¢ | ★★★★★ | Dot-plot repricing + oil inflation = no cuts this year |
| Oil $140 March YES | 38¢ | 52¢ | ★★★★ | Goldman $135 base case, Hormuz ongoing |
| Hungary Magyar PM YES | 58¢ | 61¢ | ★★★★ | +20 polling lead, 22 days to election |
Every new entry this week is already green. The No Fed Cut play is up +33.3% in two days. Capital rotation is working.

🔑 WEEK 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS
1. The Oil Thesis Is the Gift That Keeps Giving.Three oil trades. Two resolved at $1.00. One ($130) approaching resolution at 82¢. The Hormuz disruption from Day 1 continues to be the single most profitable thesis. When the geopolitical read is right, you don't need to be clever — you need to be patient and sized correctly.
2. FOMC Was the Catalyst of the Month. The hold itself was priced (98¢). The dot plot wasn't. Powell's acknowledgment of "upside energy risks" moved rate-sensitive contracts 8-15¢ in 48 hours. We entered No Fed Cut 2026 at 42¢ on FOMC day — it's at 56¢ two days later. This is what catalyst-driven trading looks like: positioned before the event, exit when the repricing is priced in.
3. Capital Rotation Is the Real Edge. When Oil $120 and Fed Hold resolved, we had freed capital to redeploy. Within 48 hours, that capital was in three new positions — all of which are already green. The compounding effect isn't just about winning trades. It's about deploying the proceeds into the next mispricing before the market catches up.
4. Hungary Is the MBJ Setup on a Longer Time Horizon.MBJ Oscar was our best trade: 44.5¢ → $1.00, +124.7%. The setup was similar to what we see in Hungary: strong polling lead, market underpricing the front-runner, retail skepticism creating a buying opportunity. The election is April 12 — 22 days out. If the polls hold, this is a $1.00 resolution from 61¢ current.

📉 THE LOSSES — FULL TRANSPARENCY
Not everything worked:
Iran Regime Change YES (54¢ → 32.5¢, -39.8%): Thesis was directionally reasonable but market structure punished the position. Resolution criteria favored NO. We cut the loss and reallocated. Lesson: read the fine print on resolution criteria, not just the headline. BTC $75K March YES (67¢ → 12¢, -82.1%): The crypto thesis was wrong. The "higher for longer" rate environment crushed the BTC thesis. This position is effectively a zombie — too cheap to sell, will likely resolve at $0.00. We've written off the capital mentally but won't sell for 12¢ with 10 days left (lottery ticket value). We publish every trade, winners AND losers, the same day they happen. That's the deal.

🔮 NEXT WEEK PREVIEW — March 22-28
| Event | Date | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| March month-end approaches | All week | 10 days to March 31 contract resolutions |
| Oil $130 decision window | Mon-Fri | WTI at $123 — only $7 away from $130 trigger |
| Rate repricing continuation | Mon-Tue | 2Y yield at 4.62%, more repricing possible |
| Hungary campaign sprint | All week | 3 weeks to election, final polls dropping |
| PCE inflation data | Friday Mar 28 | Next major data point for rate bets |
Oil $130 is trading at 82¢. It needs WTI to hit $130 by March 31. That's $7 away with 10 days left and a supply disruption still ongoing. This is the most critical position in the portfolio.
Hungary Magyar PM at 61¢ is the highest-conviction long-dated play. Election is April 12. If polling leads hold, this resolves at $1.00 — a +64% return from current levels.
The No Fed Cut 2026 play is a slow burn. At 56¢, the risk/reward is still good — but the real catalyst is the March 28 PCE print. Hot PCE = rate cuts off the table = this pushes toward 70¢+.

🌶️ SPICY TAKE
Everyone is now "higher for longer" — the same people who were pricing in 5 rate cuts in January. When consensus shifts this violently in 72 hours, the market usually overshoots. We're positioned in the direction of the overreaction (No Fed Cut 2026 YES), but we're also watching for the counter-trade: if oil pulls back below $115 for any reason, rate cut odds will snap back 10-15¢ in a single session.
The best traders aren't married to a view. They're married to a process. The process right now says: ride the energy trade, hold the rate repricing, and keep dry powder for the inevitable counter-move.
